Like that kid at school they’re cool by the simple fact they don’t try to be, don’t care whether they are or not, but simply do what they do because it’s what they know. But they do come from somewhere. They emerge from decades of music to be angered by, to be excited by and to be lost in. They’re fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties, noughties and beyond.
